I use acrylic paints, although I will occasionally delve into watercolor. I use any and all types of acrylic paint including cast-offs in the bargain bin from my local hardware store, inexpensive paint from the craft store and wall paint samples from the home improvement store. If it's acrylic, I'll use it.
I grew up in a picturesque seaside town in Massachusetts. I spent many hours riding my bike to the local beaches, walking the marshes with my parents, boating excursions with friends, and strolling the harbor area. The sand and sea are part of my DNA. However, I I've in a rural area of Maine and I love the colors, landscape architecture and beauty of the mountains and forest.
Generally, I do not paint outside although I would love to try this at some point. This is referred to as Plein Air. I do use pictures and photos as inspiration for some of my paintings. However, most of them come from imagination.
I do! I love to work with clients to create something unique to their personality, their decorating style, their homes. It is one of my biggest joys to help someone create their perfect art piece.
I am a mom and wife and I have many interests and hobbies. I love being with my children, husband and extended large family. I enjoy being outside in nature, all times of the year. Also, I cherish time spent with friends, walking my dog, listening to podcasts, watching art videos on YouTube and silly reality TV shows (my brain candy, as I call it).
I LOVE to teach people to find their inner artist and be creative, as we all have that something special. I think I was a teacher in my past life. So yes, I do teach private lessons and a few times a year I will teach classes. If you are interested in private instruction or putting together a sip and paint class, please reach out. I would be delighted to hear from you!
